Print pausing in mid run

I'm printing some small clips that will go on a wire frame to hold Christmas lights. I've been printing 25 at a time and until recently they have been printing fine (about 200 of them printed so far). Using the same gcode file for every printing.

I found that a printing that I had started this morning the last maybe 1/8" of it was like the rest of the printing on every item was slightly shifted off. (see image if I can get it attached).

I had started a new printing of them again when I got home and it got about half way through and then I heard some kind of odd sound from it and then the print head moved to the front left side of the print bed. It sat there for just a few seconds but then moved back to continue on printing.

So I don't know if that's why the previous batch had everything slightly off set, but I've never seen this happen before and was wondering if anyone could tell me or give me any suggestions as to what might be going on. When the print head moved to the front left side, I looked at the panel and didn't see any problems being reported.

My Mk3 is still pretty stock since I haven't done any of the later modifications to it yet.
I'm printing with PETG and did just recently change to try Inland filament.
My printer is inside of an enclosure (power supply and control panel are outside of enclosure) and the enclosure maintains around 95 degrees. Posted pictures of my current printing just if that helps to understand what I'm printing.

Anyone have any suggestions or something I can check for possible problems? I appreciate any help I can get.

{Well for some reason I can't add my attachment images, it lets me add them but they are not present after I submit my posting}

Yep, I know what you are talking about, I had that happen right after i flashed a new firmware, I think it was 3.6 but might have been the one right before that... It is maddening!! I remember some similar posts a few months ago (feb 2019) about it but could not find them. I did not post when it happened to me but i had taken pictures.

The print goes along nicely until it decides to move the printhead to a corner and pauses and then starts again and is off, like if you bumped the printer while it was printing and now the next layers are offset just like you said... No changes to the printer were made, it is like it glitches.

Had you recently flashed any firmware updates? If so, you might want to reflash it and make sure you use the correct one. I reflashed my firmware after and that seemed to fix it for me. Perhaps the download was corrupted or something ❓

The other thing to check is in the menu, go to fail stats and look and see what it says, I noticed there were filament runouts and crashes detected when there was not a crash so to speak... It may be the filament sensor is dirty or malfunctioning and you can either blow it out with canned air to clean it or turn it off and see if that fixes the problem.

Edit: Here is a similar post that shows the problem and has good explanations. Solution seemed to be to turn off the filament sensor. I did have the crashes and filament runouts when I checked the fail stats... https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/how-do-i-print-this-printing-help--f63/strange-print-head-travel-t28322.html

This means the printer hits a object wen moving.
Could be the printed object, or bearings not good.
Check your extruder if it is loose.
Check the whole printer for loose bolds.
Maintenance is needed, clean bearings, oil the bearings with special oil(see forum), check all bolds for the whole printer,
check everything, do xyz, z calibration, then first layer adjust.

Could also be to much plastic gets extruded, so the prints gets to high, temps/fan speed could also be a problem, try more fan speed.

Thanks all,
I will take a look at what peter.m26 mentioned. And possibly look at the flashing that jbinfl mentioned.

I did find that there seemed to be more "globs" occurring in the last batch on some of the clips. In fact one glob was sitting higher on one of the clips being printed. It was every time it went back over that one clip, I guess it was hitting that glob and that is what sent it back to the home position. I decided to terminate that print job since I at least got 7mm of my 10mm printing for the clips.

I'm wondering if it is the Inland petg filament that I had just started with prior to these last couple printings. I had been using MG Chemicals petg prior to that and never had any problems. I went and ordered me some more of the MG Chemicals so once that gets in, I'll see if I have any problems with that.

My printer is inside of an enclosure (power supply and control panel are outside of enclosure) and the enclosure maintains around 95 degrees.

It may be too hot for PETG in your enclosure. Try to open it as much as you can. Enclosure is good for ABS, but for PETG and the high temperature makes me doubtful.

Posted pictures of my current printing just if that helps to understand what I'm printing.

And if you want to attach pictures, do so with Attachments.

Thanks I'll give that a try also.

I did go through the attachments and I added my images and it showed the images being selected, but when I submitted the posting, the images were not there and going back to edit it, they were not there. Even during the edit, I tried to add them again and they still were not there after the submit.

After you attach the picture, you have to hit the place inline for it to show in the post. See pic.

Then that's why I'm not being able to add images. I'm not getting that "Place Inline" button in my File Comment area. I have the "Delete file" button and the comment text field (and file size) but no other buttons on that line. Your file name also looks like a link (not sure if it's just the screen shot) but my file displays as all black if that matters. The file size is also only 1.6 MB so it shouldn't be a file size.

I'll do some looking around to see if somewhere file attachment privileges either haven't been given to me or I have some setting miss set.

Found a FAQ that I have to have administrative privilege to add images. So I guess I don't have that permission.

Re: Print pausing in mid run

what type of file are you trying to attach? A straight JPG should be OK. If you are trying to attach something else that could be the issue.
