Print Fan Error
Good Day,
I choose the PRUSA i3 MK3 as my first printer and I love it. For two weeks it produced, in my opinion, fantastic results. From 28mm miniatures to war gaming terrain like wrecked ships and fortified manors, it was great. Then I got my first error message. PRINT FAN ERROR. I jumped online and tried to suss it out myself but to no avail. I have a message in for the PRUSA gurus but I though I would try here as well.
This is what I've done so far:
I first checked the fan for derbies.
I then restarted the print and it worked for about 5 minutes then stopped again.
Front facing fan stops but the side mounted fan continues running until I cancel the print.
Went on line for advice - checked for visibly loose wires, none.
Manually started the fan by going into settings, then temp, then fan and set it to 255 and it ran with no problem.
I then carefully moved the fan housing back and forth along the carriage 6-8 time to see if there was some sort of brake in electrical flow, the fan kept functioning.
I ran the fan for 10 minutes without the error message showing up.
Flashed the firmware
Attempting to print still results in the error message.
Any ideas? I want to get printing again so very bad.

In my case the error was triggered by one broken wire (one of the three wires for the fan) in the area near the RAMB box. It was difficult to find out the exact broken position, since the complete wire harness moves between the extruder and the RAMB box. Inside the wire harness some wires are pulled or streched, some are more or less compresed during the extruder movement. I took out the print fan wires from the spiral wrap in order to find out the broken area. Maybe you have to get a close look too.

I have the same problem. I can manually turn on the print fan and change the speed. In the self-test both fans turn on....but after a while I get an error saying there is a wiring error on the print fan and the self-test fails. Also, my prints fail because I get an error with the print fan.
Any solutions? Did I somehow ruin the print fan wire?

With petg print, i had that de fan turns slow, then it stops turning.
Pla with high speed fan no problem.
I put oil on the fan, there is a sticker, after this it worked again.
But i ordered a new one, for if fail again.

I've explained my issues on the online support, as suggested.
Very quick and very kind, they've decided to give me a free fan with my next order, so I ordered some pla and they put a fan in the box.
I'm waiting for delivery, but really good support.
In the meanwhile (since a new fan is coming and I've got nothing to loose) I opened the malfunctioning fan and disassembled it, tested again after reassembly (with the help of a bit of glue) and I don't know why but now the fan spins!
I can say this problem is solved, thanks to everyone. 😉
