Print fails from a specific high and gaps during printing
Hi all,
I fight some problems since a few weeks. My MK3S+ worked pretty well for the first 2 years I run it, but now there appears gaps in the first layer and during the printing. Also the print fails from a specific high (see pictures).
What I already did:
- Cold pull 3x
- Maintenance of the axes
- xyz-calibration
- Extruder wheels checked
- Nozzle cleaned from outside
- Firmware update
- Bed-Leveling set to 7x7
And I still have all these issues... Any tips what I further can do?
Thank you in advance for any hint you can give me!
RE: Print fails from a specific high and gaps during printing
Somehow after the maintenance the live adjustment of the z-level changed about 0.02 mm and created all this errors. I'm know at 1.510 which was not possible in my eyes and therefore I didn't go over 1.500 with the adjustment.
After reading this article: How to fix the most common 3D printing errors - Original Prusa 3D Printers
And using the first layer print file of this blog post: life adjust Z - my way – Assembly and first prints troubleshooting – Prusa3D Forum
I'm back on a high-quality level of my prints! So, issue solved!

Looks like weak adhesion (filament peels back when direction is reversed and creating the holes you see). You might need to go a bit lower with you first layer and you have to clean the bed surface.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
