Please move the tensioners

I just recently assembled my MK3S+, and am still getting it tuned in. Apparently, among other things, "reasonable force" for me is a bit higher than ideal, as I've had to loosen both belts quite a bit. So far.

PLEASE move the tensioners in the next iteration. The idler pulley seems an ideal location. The Y is under the bed, and when the bed is all the way back, (as when the head is "homed"), it is at its least accessible. The X is in a DECENT location, except again, when the extruder is homed, the screw is blocked.
I keep having to go back and forth between the calibrate screen, to check belt tension, and the settings screen, to move the axes to more accessible spots. It'd be easier if they could be reached when the head was at 0,0,0.

Just "Parking" at some spot other than 0,0,0 would help. The Y adjustment would still be inconvenient, but if the extruder "parked" at, say, 250,250,250 after the belt test, it'd leave both belt adjustments at their most accessible for a quick tweak.

Or you could use something like this to tension without having to power on

Having problems with bed adhesion every morning...

@yveske

Prusament PETG is on order to reprint a cracked Y-axis idler assembly. Until then, I'm stuck with the other methods.
Besides, I needed to get it to print before I could have printed that. I probably will, anyway, to throw into my toolbox.

That would be a nice thing to have in the kit.

@sean-roach

The belt tension gauge is the only reliable way to adjust tension.  The #'s on the setting screen are not belt tension (they are detected drag)
