Panic button connector orientation

Can anyone tell me if the panic button is polarized or does the orientation matter?

As I was connecting wires to Einsey board, the panic button connector pulled away from the board along with the matching board connector leaving the header pins bare on the board.

I can't tell from the assembly pictures which direction they are supposed to be mounted.

Thank you.Panic button and connector

Btw, I haven't powered the printer up as of yet.

I found the panic button connector pulled away as I was running a final check of the connections.

And I was almost done with this assembly.

from the picture it seems the black wire is on the left

It amazes me that people simply refuse to look at manuals when working on electronic things.

I  suspect -- for whatever reason -- we'll be asked a lot more silly questions as time goes on. What is especially silly is that the connector in question is polarized and the plug can't be plugged in backwards. So there are two strikes in this instance.

@tim-2

Silly questions like " Why did the connector remove itself from the circuit board?" Or "Why does he have bad vision?" Or maybe "Why can't the forum just answer the question without some useless critique?"

They stated they just couldn't tell based on the image, no need to shame someone for maybe not knowing exactly how to decipher exactly what's going on for the first time, that's why they tried to make the instructions as detailed as they could and repeat some things multiple times.

My tip would be to look at the colors of the wires and how they're oriented, rather than trying to see the black on black connector and how it goes into the board. If you're not already looking at the manual via a computer, I highly recommend it so you can zoom into the pictures. Here's that section for easy access 8-electronics-assembly. There's also a lot of comments for people who got stuck and needed help in the past on specific steps.

Step 37 has a much more useful picture for this specific question as they separate the board and hang the wires off to see easier. You should be able to see the white wire ends up on the outside of the board (right side when facing it upright as in the picture). Also can see the clip in person and make out that there's an entry point for the clip at the top of the connection for it to slide in.

Hope this helps.

Update:

I got the printer working without any smoke or fire... Yet.

Some other calibration issues caused delay, but found tightening some loose Zip-ties fixed those.

After a few adjustment pains with the Z and getting to IR sensor height, I finally think I have it close. This was the first test print that actually stuck.

Thanks for the help with better images.

Yeah - life can be harsh. Maybe I had too many bullies attacking me when I was growing up -- or too many attacking me nowadays because I am color blind -- but sarcasm came to me naturally as a defense mechanism and I don't even know when I am being sarcastic.

Now that the manual has been read, and the wire plugged in correctly...

Your print looks good. Gratz - good first steps.

As a data point your print sheet should be clean; and not have any white film on it as your does. This contamination will haunt you if you don't learn to deal with it early on and correctly.
