Odd issue with higher layers on newly built kit i3 mk3

My printer kit went together without any trouble, and my first 3 or 4 prints were uneventful and nearly perfect. I had some trouble getting the Z offset but after a (very) slight adjustment to the PINDA probe all is well.

Anyway, I started printing some things I had sliced myself and this happened.

My i3 mk3 replaced an older Replicator 2 and while I had lots of problems with that printer, this is new to me. The first 10-20 layers seem to go down just fine and then this happens. Thoughts?

Sorry for the inverted image.

impossible to tell what actually happened, the print looks fine up until that point.

you may need to watch closely and see what its actually doing while the failure happens.

I was afraid of that. This was around an hour into the print.

Could ambient low temperatures cause this? It looks like layers aren't adhering properly...

On the upside, I printed the all-in-one torture test with overhang from Thingiverse earlier in the week without any issues and it looked fantastic.

I'll try to catch it in the act and report back. Thanks!
