Not sure why I am getting globby bits and having collision detections so much

Ok so.... I got the kit because Im in Australia and figured it would be too hard to get help and I need to know how to assemble it myself. Had problems with collisions then eventually an x-axis error. Figured out the belt stretches over the first few weeks. Shortened belt, ok.

Did the wizard again, had a problem but re-running the wizard seemed ok. Did the low poly Pikachu as a test print. Came out nice. Started printing the drybox (again I had already printed it in another filament and printed half of it in the current filament). Got a collision error. Thought maybe it was the carriage screws were too tight as I found a post about that so I loosened them to be firm not tight.

Had a small collision detection, not sure why, restarted. Was going down silky smooth and then.... this globby bit which I assume is why it had a collision detection for the last time it stopped.

I havent installed the MMU2 yet that I got I wanted to make sure everything worked fine in regular first but what have I done wrong? I didnt include the error screen with garbled text on the LCD. I am running it with a Pi3 and Octoprint.

When I got home I decided to try again... it seems a bit tough to move left not right. I set it to autohome and it didnt really, I reset the thing and got it to autohome but then i tried to do a first layer calibration and it just made awful grinding noises on the x-axis drive (I think) and didnt move all the way to the next spot and give me a failure.

ps: looks like there's a chance the fan shroud is hanging too low and catching on the part. But it could be many things. The printer is new and under some sort of warranty...
