My Z Axis is stuck at the top
Hii,
I have assembled my MK3 successfully, printed the Prusa tag, Bunchy and the Dragon with the provided PLA.
I wanted to print replacements parts with PTEG i bought from Prusa.
So i did:
"Unload Filament"
"Load Filament"
The problem is that the Zaxis was raised, so after i loaded the PTEG the new position was detected as the ZERO point of Z Axis, and nothing can fix it (Calibration Z, Calibration XYZ nor Self Test)
The only way is using the wizard from the start (and wait for the extruder and the bed to cool down)
Then i have no first layer calibration, so i swap my filament using the wizard and we are back to the same issue!!!
The error message i get imediatly after i change the filament is that the bed leveling failed, but the extruder wasn't lowered in the first place!!!
Any i idea what can be the problem?
Re: My Z Axis is stuck at the top
And if i run SelfTest the Z Axis starts to raise until it hits the top, and you can hear the motor continuing to push!
Then the Top becomes the new zero!!!
Re: My Z Axis is stuck at the top
Sounds like your Pinda is faulty.
The printer goes to the top. ThenoThenowers until the pinda triggers at the bed height
If the pinda is faulty. And showing triggered. Then the printer doesn't lower the extruder.

Re: My Z Axis is stuck at the top
Is there a way for me to test if it's the pinda?
Or i have ti replace it and see?
Re: My Z Axis is stuck at the top
it does seems the PINDA is the problem, I tried to run PINDA calibration and it failed in the end.
Order a new one, waiting...
Re: My Z Axis is stuck at the top
The problem is caused by the PINDA.
I ran the tests from https://help.prusa3d.com/l/en/article/3tSXh6nWJd-pinda-probe-testing
and it failed on the testing of "Testing the P.I.N.D.A. probe cable"
It seems there something lose in the cable because moving it a little bit causes the PINDA to work correctly. So mean while i have a patch. Waiting for the new PINDA
Re: My Z Axis is stuck at the top
Hi Kamil,
have you checked that the Pinda connection is properly plugged in?

Re: My Z Axis is stuck at the top
Yes,
I only toggle the cable nearest to the PINDA itself, i also made sure that all my Zip ties are not too tightly closed.
I go to "Show PINDA Status" and i see that if i touch the cable near the PINDA the Z changes from 1 to 0
