MK3S+ kit ordered, any reason I should not install Revo Six when assembling the kit?

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area - first time poster.

I recently ordered the MK3S+ kit, and want to go straight to the Revo Six hot end.  Is there any reason why I should not just install this hot end when I initially assemble the kit?  With the wiring changes, it seems to easier to just wire things up as desired with the Revo Six the first time.

Welcome to the Forum!

Sounds like a good idea to me.  The v6 works well but is a pain to switch nozzles or work on.

The Revo Six does fit right in and works well. I've been using one on a Mk3s+ extruder for the last month or so. It seems better at printing high temperature filaments like ASA or PC, the nozzle swaps are easy, the molten plastic gunk seems to stay on just the bottom of the nozzle and not all over the heater block, and the reason I bought one, is that the heater is self-limiting in maximum temperature in case of control failure. Also, it should be able to print at higher speeds.

I have found that the Revo's larger melt zone can cause PETG to string and blob more if the filament is not completely dry. This makes printing small first-layer lettering more challenging for PETG, though ASA does not seem to mind.

Also, I think TPU flexible filament might be a bit more prone to jamming in the extruder gears, but slowing the print a little seems to help that.

On the other hand, the Revo prints ASA a fair bit better.

Good Luck and

Happy Printing!

Thank you for the detailed reply.  I'm stepping up from an Ender 3 V2 that has a few mods.  My goal is to be able to spend less time making printer adjustments.  I'll have to watch things with the PETG prints (although ASA/PC, with a little PLA, is where I plan to spend most of my time).

Personally I wouldn't do that because if you have a problem when you've finished the build, you'll want to contact the help desk and non stock parts will just confuse that process.
