MK3S keeps prompting unload filament
Hi everyone I'm currently having a massive issue in regards that the printer keeps telling me to unload filament. I had this printer for around a week or 2 and it prints amazingly if it does not stop to unload. It is starting to frustrate me as I bought this printer for reliability, not to wake me up in the night to unload and reload the filament.

It keeps telling me to unload filament usually after halfway through the print and 80% of the time 1 minute before it finishes printing.

Before you ask
The ir sensor is turned off
The cable is connected correctly
I printed different sized spacers which have made no changes

Even the prusa live support is confused about this which is why I'm asking here to get other opinions. There are other issues as well which again support is confused as what I told them should mean the printer is fine, which suggests that I might have a faulty printer somehow.
But I would like your opinions on what you think I should do.
Currently waiting for support to get back in a few days as the person helping me is trying to find out why this could be happening.

have you tried unplugging the filament sensor?
this will guarantee that you don't get erroneous signals from the sensor, then if the problem persists it is not in the sensor...

I have not tried that. So I can disconnect the IR sensor and the printer will still continue to print?

Ok problems still arise even without the sensor connected which suggests to me that it must be a hardware issue. The other problem I have is that I get incorrect belt tension results. The printer says the belt is too tight despite the belt teeth losing grip on the pulley making it quite loose, which could further support that it is hardware problems. What are you're thoughts?

Hallo

@visayan7

Did you lubricate the linear bearings during assembly,

If not now might be a good time to do some maintenance.

let's see if we can get the printer moving properly first.

Your problem I believe is a little different caused by the sensor which is a common issue. I would suggest turning the sensor off on the LCD to see if it still prints. You either connected the cable incorrectly (depending on the printer you have) or might need a spacer under the sensor which helps. My case is that I can print but it's after halfway where suddenly it tells me to unload as well as 1 minute before it finishes.

Bearings have been lubricated but with WD40 white lithium grease during assembly as well as on the bar.

RE: MK3S keeps prompting unload filament

you could try loading the most recent firmware,

Do the X and Y axis move smoothly, by hand?

check that the X and Y idler wheels have a little side to side play and rotate freely,
If motion is still stiff,  try slackening the X axis Bank Plate, about half a turn on the screws to loosen their grip on the linear bearings

If Y axis is still stiff, check for a gap between the toothed motor pulley and the motor mount and motor body
if problems still persist, try looosening the u bolts a  little

It had the most recent firmware and I tried an older firmware with the same results. The axis appears to move smoothly when moved by hand, I have another printer so can compare that it moves just as well as the other printer yet the Prusa layer shifts a lot more than the other printer, more when the speed is lowered.

Like I said nothing appears to be stiff. The X and Y are able to move smoothly. Maybe the bearings need more lubricant on the inside? But sorting the layer shifting is pointless until I can sort out why it keeps unloading filament even with the sensor removed,
