mk3s bed is not flat

Hi

I have just purchased a MK3s kit which i have assembled and is working well.

My issue is that the bed seems to be slightly distorted. I have attached a photograph of the underside of a large part i have just printed. Im not sure if it is clear from the photo, but at the corners the filament has squashed flat and in the centre it is still separate filaments, indicating to me, that the bed is lower in the centre.

Is this normal?

I have tried the bed calibration routine a number of times and apart from lowering the Z height further i cant think of a solution.

Im finding that on smaller parts, I have to print a raft for the part to sit on. This works, but I think that it should be unnecessary?

Any thoughts or advice please?

Thanks

Welcome to the "My bed is not flat" crowd. Search the forums, there is plenty of discussion available on ways to improve first layer calibration.

Also, be aware that large parts can warp, and will distort as the part prints, making the bottom look "not flat" - even when the bed is okay.

That bed looks much different than any I have seen before. What are we looking at?

Make sure there is a distance in the middle of the heat bed.
If you have missed it then you can get this problem.

I assumed the photo is the bottom side of a part that the OP had printed.
