Mk3S Assembly

Just finished the assembly of my Mk3S kit. A bit of a long process but still within a day, taking time to to things right. Possible do shorten the time, but I am pretty happy with the result. Skew of 0.01! Not bad. Much quieter than my creality CR-20 pro. One print out of the SD card that came out quite nice. Overall very pleased.

RE: Mk3S Assembly

I'm glad that you had good luck with it.  Mine was pretty much the same.  Once I got the Z calibration, I printed the Prusa logo and the frog with no issues and then went on to print a few things I had waiting to print.

That's great! Glad yours is working well. I will need to get an SD card adapter. Didn't even know these SD cards were still being used. I think I was expecting a micro SD. No big deal. Was a bit nervous towards the end, just wondering whether after such a long assembly something was not right. And indeed, I got a x length error. It was just the zip ties heads hitting the power supply.

Good for you  because you take time to built the machine.

Read and think before, clean all pieces, adjust well or look at where is the problem : it is not a marathon. Most problems come from haste    hurry ! no and no.

The SD card   good ; there are a lot of card readers to record Gcode and for micro-cards SD they are adapters sold with these cards.

Happy to meet    heu  wow    a happy owner printer-3D Prusa

RE: Mk3S Assembly

I received my i3MK3s kit on 23-Jun (ordered 4-May) and started the assembly. First problem I encountered was on a long aluminum extrusion (Y-Axes assembly) where a thread wasn't cut deep enough. I contacted support and received a new one. Continuation on assembly I encountered a second problem on assembling the PSU unit: I received two heat bed cables instead of two PSU cables. Contacted support and was told that the heat bed cable can be used instead of the PSU cable. I continued the assembly to find out that this isn't the case: The heat bed cable is about 7 cm shorter and won't reach the Ensy board. I contacted support again and will receive the correct cable. This means however another 2 days (at least) waiting before completing the assembly (and hoping no further issues turn up).

I really think the quality control at Prusa should be  improved!
