MK3 First Layer Calibration Failed
Well after many months "ordered 20 Nov" I finished my build and started going through the different tests and calibrations. I didn't think my first test would be perfect, but this is really stringy. Where you see the boxed turn I thought the filament was being dragged as it went around the corner.
Initial testing:
Everything went well after the first test and everything was looking good with one message saying "X/Y slightly skewed" Good Job!
EDIT:
Then I remember I should update the firmware so I completed that task. I then went back and did a complete test and calibration and everything came out good.
Had some initial issues with loading filament and it not starting, but that was cleared up.
When setting the probe height I first set the nozzle barely above/just touching the heat bed as it describes and adjusted the PINTA probe one zip tie thickness above the nozzle. I double checked everything so what am I doing wrong here?

From the picture it seems like z is still too high. Look at 6.3.9 First layer calibration (kit only) in the handbook to compare how filament should look like and compare to yours.

I was thinking along those lines, but I was also remembering the stringing I had during the above testing and remembered talk of fan speed, temperature and a few other possibilities.
My first print came out way better than I thought it would.
The only thing I see wrong with it is the blemish on the bow.
The lettering except for the back is great.

Hey David,
That looks better. 😀 Did you change anything else besides running the z calibration?
I have no idea how to fix the other things that you posted in the pictures. Still waiting for my first 3D printer so I can learn more.

No, I didn't change anything else yet. I completed several of the same tests while moving the Z calibration lower from -0.075 from the above test to -0.985 on the final. See my post below for the first looks.

Interesting! I built mine 4 days ago and was stumped with this exact same thing (stringing - didnt even know that terminology) and I was fiddling with live adjust to get it to stick. My live adjust is at -0.9 as well (They recommend adjusting pinda probe if it gets above -1 so may be that is needed as it is very close).
My first layer of my prints has been terrible as well. lots of imperfection on that layer alone but the rest of the print comes out pretty good.

there is an issue with the first layer calibration (live Z) caused by the pinda calibration comment on the github link to help speed along the fix https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/pull/552

When I get home I have a stuck filament I have to deal with. This morning when I was taking the print off of the bed I preheated the nozzle and bed before removing the filament. "forgot what you call it. Un-something". I waited for it to retract and the beep sounded, but I couldn't pull it fast enough. Now it's stuck.
No big deal, just something else I get to learn... lol I'll search through the steps to fix this once I get home. I do have a heat gun and remember this is one way to get it taken care of.

I was lucky in that the filament jam was below the boden tube so all I had to do was push it down, cut the bulb off and remove the filament.
