Linear Bearing from Y Axis noise

Hello, i'm building my first prusa printer (MK3S). I have a question. I inserted the rods in the linear bearing for the Y Axis. Then i tried to move forward and backward the rod to test the linear bearing. It's loud and not quite smooth. i have to apply some force to move the rod, even the one with only one linear bearing. and if i bring the bed fram the rod don't fall and stay in position. is it normal? thank you everyone.

RE: Linear Bearing from Y Axis noise

Bearings should be greased before insertion.  A grade 2 grease, Lithium or synthetic, is recommended. Tubes of white lithium grease or superlube synthetic are available at Home Depot, Walmart, and most hardware and autoparts stores.

That said, the bearings should move smoothly and not stick or snag - they need to and move easily on the rod.  The rubber seal can be a bit snug when new, but once moving the bearing shouldn't "catch" as it moves.  A drop of oil on the rod can help with the seal friction... but grease is best.
