Layers not aligned x and y

Hello everyone. I assembled.my printer quite a while ago, but it has had this problem the whole time. There is a very very slight alignment problem in the layers. Please see photos. It is a 20mm cube printed in pla with .05 layer height

please help me figure this one out  thank you

RE: Layers not aligned x and y

Check your pulleys.  It could be a loose belt so has skipped a tooth but its far more likely the pulleys are not tight.

The pulleys use 2 small grub screws.  The first must be gradually tightened against the flay on the stepper motor shaft.  It must be perfectly perpendicular to the flat too and not at any angle.  Once the first is tight you then tighten the second screw.  This is often referred to as a 'set' or 'lock' screw as that is what it does.  It locks the first in place.

If this order is not done properly then over time the pulley will loosen and wobble.  That leads to little layer shifts as the print direction changes.  The looser it gets the bigger the shift.

When loosening a pulley you should also do the screws in reverse order, so loosen the set screw first and then the one against the flat.

I am going through the same issues. In fact my MK3S+ has never been able to do a cylinder that was smooth and straight. Factory assembled and now 2 years old.  I just tore it apart and cleaned and re-greased all the bearing.  X, Y, Z. All pulleys are tight. Printing PETG. Was using Nozzle X .6 and went back to Nozzle X .4. Going through troubleshooting in the slicer settings now.  I may also reload the firmware just as a check box. v3.11.
