Layer Shift Issues

Hi all,

Having layer shift issues. I've checked my belt settings for the X-axis and it is within the specified ranges. Pulley wasn't loose either.

The strange thing is the second layer shift seems to have occurred back to the original position the print was in. Is this a gcode issue? This is particularly obvious if you look at the tail; you can see that the tip of the tail is in line with the base of the tail, but the middle of the tail has been offset.

Thanks in advance

Re: Layer Shift Issues

Hi Christian,

is the motor pully grub screw screwed into the flat of the motor shaft?
sometimes when it is slightly loose, it will allow the pulley to rotate on the shaft until it jams, so you get a layer shift, then later, if your extruder bumps your print, and the pulley spins around the other way, again until it jams... and you get a layer shift back again, but because it is jammed when you test the grub screw tightness, it seems tight...
when the grub screw id tightened into the middle of the Flat on the motor shaft, you get a much more secure result.

regards Joan
