Just finished assembling my prusa! Are these noises normal?
I'm not sure if the noises with the z screws is normal. Perhaps I put the trapezoidal nuts on too tight or the motor covers on too tight?
The z screws were as parallel to the frame as I could get them before putting the top brackets on.
The other noises seem just to be the linear rods, which I assume is normal as well, but I just want to verify.

Its very difficult to be comparing via microphone and speaker distortions!
Yours seems noiser than mine was when new (I built a kit) and its certainly noiser than mine is now after a couple of years use and well sorted lubrication.
Some of the noise could be being amplified by the table its on, try running it on say a rubber car mat or a doormat.
Have you done any lubrication? What have you used? It sounds "dry" to me!!

The first one seems to have more of a 'buzz' than mine does, but nothing sounds like it's binding.
The second one sounds very much like mine does.

Yeah, I thought it was noisier than mine, but now that I think of it, those videos were miked very closely, and my ears are usually about two feet in front of and above the printer when I listen to it.
Since I wrote the above I did launch one print and I listened carefully, and yes, there is a slight buzz on mine when the Z axis drives downward, but it's not as obvious as in the first video above.
One thing that I think is important, and telling, is if the two Z motors drive the assembly down evenly without binding or skipping steps on one side.

I just lubed up the rails using the included lubricant from the kit, and it doesn't seem as noisy anymore!

Totally, I was fairly close, and now after using some lubricant on it, it doesn't seem all that loud.
It didn't seem like anything was wrong, just that it was noisy.

Forgot to say, but I did just move the z axis up and down completely, and both sides went along smoothly.

Career engineer here, near 60 year experience, so I officially know Nothing..........
Mk 3 since it came out.
Lubricated screws and slides with a quality silicone based oil since new, can only state experience counting that.
NO issues, extremely quiet, extremely smooth action, no slop, no wear, IMO no brainer.
(Would have preferred Castrol "R" for the smell, but you can't have everything!! ) 😋
BTW, Do you put water on burns or not, haven't seen THIS weeks First Aid dictat.............................
