Is there a good way to move the extruder when a print finishes?

I just assembled my MK3 (first 3d printer!) last night/this morning (10PM-3AM!) and have done several test prints from the SD card (whistle, logo, treefrog). All have come out quite nicely, and I have a benchy going right now that looks nice so far.

My question is, when a print finishes it seems that the extruder just moves to the back left of the print bed, but the height does not change. With a print like the logo, which is not very tall, it is difficult to remove the spring steel sheet since the extruder is so close to the print bed, and the magnets are SO strong. I'm hoping there's an easy way to just move the extruder up the Z axis. If it just quickly moved halfway up at the end of a print, it would make it considerably easier to remove the steel sheet.

The latest versions of Slic3rPE include some custom gcode that will push the Y axis forward, then raise the Z axis if there is room. Beware solutions that don't check for room!
