Is "M221 S95" still required?
When I first got my MK3, after some tightening and fine-tuning, I got great prints. My first layer was really smooth.
I ran out of the filament that the printer came with, and switched to Hatchbox. My first layer is now terrible. It looks like the printer can't compensate for Z height. Some areas are squished too much (Z too low), and in other areas, there are gaps between the filament strands (Z too high). I tried two different spools of different colors -- same problem.
My first layer looks a lot better if I change the flow rate from 95% to 100%. So I'm wondering if "M221 S95" is doing more harm than good. Why does it exist in the first place?
