Inconsistent Prusament ASA extrusion?

Hi.

My Mk3S is genrally we set up and mostly prints fine.  However, I'm getting frustratingly inconsistent extrusion with some Black Prusament ASA, using the default Slic3r settings for that filament, and am hoping someone can offer advice on how to fix this.

The issue seems most servere near the 4 corners of the print bed.

The objects in the top left corner of the wider shot, obscured by the extruder, suffer similar inconsistencies to those visible in the other 3 corners.  The worse examples are cricled in red - the OK one, in green.

This is best explained with a couple of photos (attached).  Any guidance will be gratefully received.  Thanks

Hello. Have you tried bed level calibration? This calibration allows you to shift the z axis height for different sides/corners of the bed in order to even it out.

However, if this issue is only occurring for a certain type/spool of filament and/or the offset on the bed is occurring at random positions each time, the issue is probably with the filament. Try drying the filament

Avinash is talking about the bed level correction (not calibration): https://help.prusa3d.com/article/bed-level-correction_2267 Be careful with this you can make things worse with it. Although people seem to get things working with this nobody can really explain what this is compensating for (theoretically), except for inconsistencies in the PEI sheet's coating.

Before doing this, you should try 7x7 mesh for bedleveling if you haven't done it already.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!

Hi.  Thanks for the suggestions.  Bed seems to be nicely levelled as other filaments print OK.  However, I'll try as @robin suggests with 7 x 7 mesh (as opposed to my normal 3 x 3).  If that doesn't work, I'll try drying the filament. This particular spool was only recently opended and the vacuum packaging seem nice & airtight - BUT, it was stored in a garage for 18-24 months (while renovating our home), so I wonder if that had any effect.

I'll also take a look at the bed level "correction" link...

Thanks, both, @avinash & @robin, for the advice
