I had to replace the Z axis stepper motors. I did that and now when I try to adjust the Z axis it moves up and down nicely. The issue is that when I go to calibrate the Z axis, it goes all the way to the bottom and presses against the print bed and only then stops. It then asks me to remove the steel sheet which I do but it then fails instantly.

Any suggestions?

Hi David,

I took the liberty of editing your first post a little,

I suspect that your Pinda is either poorly adjusted or faulty...

raise the extruder to say 30mm,

then look at the PINDA LED (Red / clear end around the cable of the Pinda... )

if you touch a piece of metal against the bottom of the Pinda, the LED should go darkMove the metal away and the LED Should light again...

Now look at the LCD Support Sensor menu the Pinda Status  should show 1 when the Pinda LED is off... and the pinda status should show o when the LED is On...
If the led changes but the status does not, then your pinda is faulty...

regards Joan

The PINDA Sensor needs to be adjusted, this happened to me during the calibration process. i had the PINDA sensor really high.
