I bought a used printer and can't tell if it's broken or not

Hello,

I bought.my First printer. It was packed well, but in my opinion it came with two damages and I am asking for our help to see if I am right

I would need your help to see if the Mk3s is original and how I can fix it.

As you see in the pictures.

1. The clamps on the platter rails are broken. It is not a problem to replace them, but looking at the installation manual, the brackets are different. Question: is it correct for a mk3s to have these kinds of brackets? Maybe it is just an old model?

2. The belt support in my opinion is broken. Do you think it is enough to replace it or reprint it? Or do I have to buy a new belt too?

Sorry I made a collage, I hope the photos are clear.

Thanks for your help

RE:

Sorry it's my first printer, I struggle to use the correct words.

Question1 : the 'brackets' are (imho) the Y Rod holder

Question2: It should be the 'y axis belt'

Thanks you for your help

Hello,

Don't see any response to your questions.  As I have a MK3s+, there are things that are different.

Y-axis bracket for the belt needs to be replaced.  I printed an updated version from Printables that allows adjustment from the front of the printer which is much easier to do.

You can print the rod holders.  Parts are on printables as well.  I printed some with ASA and they broke the first time I used them.  I have not tried PLA but I suspect that PETG is going to be required.

Depending on the number of hours printed, you shouldn't need to replace the belt.

Hello Robin,
Thank you for your reply. I spoke directly with the seller of the printer. He realised that some parts had broken during transport. That is why I had marked the discussion as resolved. The seller also sent me replacement parts at his own expense, printed in petg. Everything ok, in the best way. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness 🙂
