Help please

Is there anyone in the hagerstown md are that can have a look at my Mk3s and help me identify the multiple issues it is having. I assembled it and have not been able to pass the self test.. it doesn’t help that I am a rookie 😅.

RE: Help please

Shutdown printer, check by hand if your x-axis moves, without sticking.

Also check at the back if there are no cables/cables ties were the x-axis bump against, if it hits something then it will not find the distance which is in the firmware, and gives an error.

Do this also for the other axis.

@peter-m26

I did this already.. the axis is a little sticky when moving to the right side. I have already greased the rod and had no change. I suspect the bearings are bad. This is not the only problem it’s just the larger of the problems.

One more thing, slightly loosen the screws holding the x-axis bearing cover.   Sometimes if these are too tight the bearings will be squeezed and can cause excessive drag.  Also, one somewhat obscure possibility... count the number of "teeth" on the x-axis cogged wheel on the stepper.  Some machines lately have shipped with an incorrect 20 tooth part versus the required 16 tooth part.

Regards,

Steve
