Hanging bits of filament - overextrusion?

Dear all,

i'm a newbie to 3d printing and i've just got my Prusa i3 MK3. i'm experiencing some issues whereby some filament is hanging on to the nozzle and to the printed part after printing is done. in doing first layer calibration i see this in two instances as shown in the image attached.

Is this a sign of over extrusion? How do i solve itß

thanks a bunch.

Cheers,
R.

No, it's probably because there are melted filament on and around the nozzle that you should remove.
If the Z level is too high, the filament does not attach to the bed, it rolls up and sticks to the nozzle instead.
Make sure that the nozzle is clean before each print, then you will avoid this problem.

Let me know if that works. I am having kind of the same problem but with more complications. I have cleaned my nozzle and even went and replaced it.
