Front print fan seems noisy

My MK3 is assembled and running fine and the Noctura fan is dead quiet which is awesome. However the front print fan can range anywhere from normal to making a buzzing sound which is extremely annoying. I'm guessing its related to the RPM. The noisiest buzzing sound is made during the self-test; during a PLA print it was reasonably quiet, comparable to my MK2. However I just made a print with PET and it made a mild buzzing sound.

Is this normal? The overall noise level is excellent when the front print fan is on the quiet side, but its not any better than my MK2 when its making that buzzing sound. Anybody else notice this?

Steve:

Yes, it is normal. Something about the frequency of the fan being the same as we can hear. This question comes up periodically.

You can test the fan speeds and noise by going to settings/temperature/fan and dialing different speeds from 0 to 255 and listening to the sound change.

When I am done with a print, I turn the fan to 255 to help cool the extruder before shutdown and it is quite noticeable, but at least it lets me know the fan is running...

Thanks for the confirmation. BTW I'm all in on a Noctura front print fan upgrade whatever the cost; the fan noise although reasonable is definitely the loudest part of the printer most of the time when I'm printing. I would love to see PRUSA selling a Noctura blower fan as an upgrade/replacement.
