First time printing ABS, some noob questions 😛

Hi all,

We have a i3 MK3 and we are printing with ABS for the first time. We are using the Verbatim ABS white filament.
The first two prints failed because the project let loose of the heated bed (100 degrees). I now use some gluestick and it seems to stick now.

I'm seeing some weird "artifacts" or something after the first layer. Please see attached photo's. What could cause this?

Nozzle temp is set to 230 degrees (as described by Verbatim), bed 100 degrees. First layer thickness is 0.3mm.

set your live z with this method https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f62/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html using the ABS version of the gcodes file linked in the first message in the thread

it is far better than the zig zag method in the firmware

The issue is that you calibrate with 0.2 first layer thickness but this print is 0.3. Either change the Live-Z for this print or change the slicer settings to 0.2 for the first layer.
