First Print Issues

Hi I got my printer assembled yesterday (this is my first 3D printer) and I am having some issues with my first prints and I was hoping some of you knowledgeable people could help me. While I took my time with the assembly, I did have a problem during the selftest which was caused by the y-axis belt being too loose but once it was corrected the printer went through the selftest and initial calibration fine.

The first issue I am dealing with appears when I am trying to do the first layer calibration.

I am not sure how well it shows up in the photo but if I get a nice squish on the left part of the bed, the right seems a little too squished and thin on the bed and if I raise the nozzle up a teeny bit to make the right-side look correct the left does not squish and adhere to the bed properly. To my untrained eye it would seem the right side of the bed is a little higher than the left and it is not being accounted for by the mesh calibration?
After doing my best on about 5 initial layer calibrations I printed a Prusa logo which went fairly well:

But then when I tried to do a slice with the Prusa slicer (default setting with either .1 mm or .2 mm layers) and print some calibration cubes from thingiverse I got what appears to be a bad layer shift:

Finally, since I was not sure if it was the printer or my slicing, I printed a copy of the included gcode for Nefertiti:

Any help/advice you might be able to provide to fix my ailing printer would be greatly appreciated 😀 , Eric

Re: First Print Issues

Check that the motor pulley is correctly fitted and securely screwed to the motor shaft.
The X-axis end pulley may be too tight, check that it runs freely.

Thanks for the response, are you talking about the X-axis motor pulley?

The X-axis end pulley may be too tight, check that it runs freely.

So you think it might be too tight and it would not be caused by it being too loose?

Yes, the two screws against the motor shaft.

If the center screw is too tight, the end pulley can not move freely. If the wheel brakes the belt movement, this will affect the print quality.
