First print: is this sound normal? Plus Y belt question
Hi, I just finished building my kit, went smoothly, and it is half way through the first print, which is looking very nice by the way. Self check and calibration went great.
I'm concerned by a clicky "rattling" or maybe scratchy sound that my printer is making. It isn't all the time, and often sounds very quiet. But sometimes it will rattle for a few seconds, then continue quietly. It seems to be when the print head is making lots of tiny movements fast, so perhaps it is just a normal sound? I'm pretty sure, but not positive it is coming from the extruder. Here is a short video with the sound:
I can't figure out what it is, I've checked for obvious loose parts
On an unrelated topic (or is it!?), my Y belt isn't in the middle of the pulley and idler. It is toward the motor. But I've adjusted the pulley as far toward the motor as I can, and it still isn't centered. Is there something else I can do, have I gone wrong somehow?
I've reviewed step 20 and step 39, and my idler part is oriented correctly (dot up) and my pulley is on the shaft the same as in the picture. Any other ideas?
Thanks!

By the way, I don't think it is under-extruding, the first print was flawless. I've done two more prints since then, one didn't click at all, the other clicked a little when doing small quick details.

There've been a few reports of the filament detect ball rattling around and clicking like that. Did you make sure the filament sensor was working and changing from 1 to 0 as filament is inserted?
As for belt on pulley position. Minor irregularities and imperfections in alignment will force the belt to one side. Might be left, might be right. Not a problem unless it is rubbing so hard it tries to lift off the pulley.
