First layer print issues

Hi all,

I recently purchased the mk3 model kit and went through the assembly process. All was good until a couple of days ago as I haven't been using the printer and I now see that I am experiencing calibration issues.

The first layer calibration test prints ok; but when I print a larger object I get areas that are either not sticking or are too close to the bed as per the attached image.

Any help would be greatly appreciated in understanding what should I do next to sort this out.

Many thanks.

Re: First layer print issues

If the first layer has a glossy surface then the problem may be fat spots on the bed.
But if the surface is matte then the Z level is too low and you have to raise the nozzle a little bit.
It can also be a combination of dirty bed and a too low Z level.

The bed is best cleaned with detergent and water.
