First Layer Issues...What's Causing This?

I'm using Prusa PETG.  I've played around with first layer height.  It's done it on the satin powdercoated bed and the smooth bed.  It's done it with and without glue.  I've been cleaning the bed with dawn and water and printing immediately afterwards.  I've also tried cleaning with alcohol.  Ideas?

Your first layer Z is a fraction too low, too much squish.

Cheerio,

Thanks for the reply.  I had thought that too, however I have it set at 0.4mm and it won't let me set it higher than the nozzle size.

Too low means that it is too negative, if you are at -4.00 try -3.90 and so on.

I think they are getting confused by layer height and live z.  Layer height is a setting in the slicer, live z is a calibration function of the printer, set and performed through the LCD.

Looks like you need to do a new first layer calibration. The problem you show can be because it’s too low (as said above: too much squish) or that it is too high and not enough catch on the sheet so that it comes loose during printing.
Look for the Goldilocks setting (not too high, not too low, but just right 😊)

Thank for the reply.  I did a new first layer calibration and that solved the problem.
