first layer cal uneven on left & right side
Hi.
i've assembled my new mk3 kit printer a few days ago and it appears for the most part work fine.
after a few odd failed prints i reran the first layer calibration and i found something i don't understand.
when the zigzag pattern is printed the right side of the line is much more squashed down than the left side.
left side also tend to come loose by itself compared to right side.
i have also redone all of this after redoing the xyz calibration again and then first layer calibration but still same thing.
can someone point me in the right direction on how to make first layer consistent on left and right side? (obviously i'm not turning the knob and causing this myself)
Re: first layer cal uneven on left & right side
never mind, i've figured it out.
adjusted the manual bed leveling values and uses some calibration squares i found on thingiverse.
much better now
Re: first layer cal uneven on left & right side
Most of us use the method outlined in this thread which should be pinned to the top of the first page of this section
https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f62/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html
the canned system in the firmware you access from the printers lcd screen is a bit of a PITA to use.
Re: first layer cal uneven on left & right side
i ended up using this one:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1776031
the reason is that one live adjust z value was not enough to get same result all over the build plate
when middle was ok left side came lose by itself and right side was too low
so no single live adjust z value would have fixed it.
i had to tweak the bed level correction values and make left side an additional -40µm lower and right side +20µm or so higher.
once done and reprinted above test i got a perfect and even result on all sides.
