Filament change loop

Following a filament runout.  My printer now seems stuck in a filament change loop. Print begins, goes through bed (Z) calibration, then head lifts ~30 mm, traverses to right front corner and gives message :- "Please press the knob to unload filament" If I go through the procedure. i.e. remove filament, replace filament. It simply repeats the process again.

New to Prusa. Please help if you can?

RE: Filament change loop

I would first check the filament sensor adjustment in the extruder assembly.

jsw - Thanks.

Is there any available guidance as to how to do that? I did not build it so not essentially familiar yet.

RE: Filament change loop

You adjust for a constant '1' when the filament is present and a '0' when the filament is absent.

Instructions are near the top of the page here:

RE: Filament change loop

I had this behavior on a MK2.5 - sometimes. I think it is a bug in the firmware. When it happened to me it always ended with stopping the print. Then a restart of the printjob was necessary.

Try to find out which firmware is installed and which is the newest available. Maybe firmwar flashing will help to stop this issue.

Another idea - I don´t know if it is possible during filament change procedure to turn off filament sensor in setting.

Best regards, Clemens
