filament blobbing and falling from nozzle ruining prints
Ive been printing daily now, and it seems like my prints are getting worse. It looks like im having issues with filament ending up on the nozzle / heaterblock, and it seems to melt and fall off randomly during a print job. Assuming this is what is causing issues as most layers tend to look alright, until theres a blob in the way and then gets pushed around while its printing.
Lately my bed has been riddled with bits of filament during a print.
What should i be doing to help avoid this?
I've only really diagnosed this issue now, as its only gradually gotten worse. Assuming because filament kept accumulating on the nozzle.
Just switched colors, and some of the old color seemed to fell off. Some of the new color also seems to have creeped up the nozzle.
I have not really cleaned the nozzle between prints. (i have a brass brush ordered and on the way now) Assuming this should be my step one? But what else should i be on the look out to be preventative? or am i missing something else that i should be doing to help avoid?
And can i clean it with anything else while i dont have a brass brush yet?
Pic attached for example of what im finding, also on this particular print, it seemed to have shifted the hairline of this figure. (there was a significant blob that i tried to remove off the print before the nozzle came at it again, at that layer)
RE: filament blobbing and falling from nozzle ruining prints
well on closer inspection, after cleaning the nozzle and heaterblock a bit, i think i have filament leaking from the top of the heaterblock, and possibly the nozzle area?
Kind of assuming the nozzle / heatbreak are not tight enough now. Though cleaning whatever filament there has helped immensely, im seeing it accumlate around thsoe 2 areas. (around the nozzle, and from the side slowly falling down the right side of the heaterblock)
Should i re-tighten the nozzle while its hot?

Search for a manual how to tighten the nozzle(and how to exchange a nozzle).
On prusa site.forum and e3d has a good manual.

@peter-m26
Thanks!, Prusa's youtube video on changing a nozzle was what i was going by. But it seems like i just made a mistake somewhere as it wasnt tight enough..
Luckily, tightening it was an easy fix and seems to be doing okay. Using a 16mm spanner this time instead of an adjustable wrench gave me better leverage.
