Failed self-test for bed and hot end
Just finished getting the mk3s printer together. Self-test goes well until it gets to the bed. The light for the bed doesn't come on and the bed doesn't heat. I get the thermistor not connected error from the LCD panel when the check fails. I can get the bed to pass the test if I heat it up with a heat gun during the check and the display shows the change in temperature when it is on the main display. Hot end then fails the check with the same error if the bed passes. After double-checking all connections and fuses, I considered it may be a software issue so I flashed the printer with the lasted firmware. No improvement with current up to date firmware so I went with an older version. Some improvement at first. The bed light came on and heated up to pass the test by itself and then the hot end failed with the same error. Restarted printer and now the bed is back to the same issues. Any ideas on how I can get this working?
I've tried factory resetting and re-updating the firmware.
Key things
- Fails on the bed and hot end self-check
- Temperature reading for bed appears to be working correctly
- Bed heated itself once and hasn't again
- Hot end temperature sensor displays 0
- Currently on firmware version 3.7.0

Double then triple check your wired connections between the Power Supply and the EINSY board.
Then contact Prusa support by logging into the CHAT available on the Store web page.
RE: Failed self-test for bed and hot end
hot end 0 deg is a bad or disconnected hotend thermister. both thermisters should read room temp. at startup
RE: Failed self-test for bed and hot end
I rechecked the cables and upon closer inspection I noticed the black cable for the hot end thermistor had pulled out from the plastic case a bit. I pushed it back into place and then for good measure gave the rest of the cables a little reseating. Started it up and everything went off without a hitch. Thanks for the help!
