Extrusion motor spinning in opposite direction after rebuild...
I posted this to Reddit but haven't received any responses. I am hoping I'm not the first person this has happened to.
I just finished Mk3S to Mk3S+ upgrade, switching to a Revo hot end, and installing the Revo-specific 3.13.1 firmware from Github (although this did not do anything to solve the TM issues, but thats a different topic). I finished the rest of the calibrations and was trying to load filament for the first time for the First Layer Calibration when I noticed it simply would not load. After some investigation I discovered the extruder motor is now spinning in the wrong direction.
Extruder was working fine before disassembly.
Google hasn't been too helpful as most results seem to be for the Mini or MMU. Many suggestions regarding the motor's connector is flipped to the Einsy but this is impossible as (at least on my Mk3s) the E-connector is keyed - only one way to plug it in.
Another potential solution was a setting an experimental menu option to reverse that motor's direction, but I think that might be for the Mini as the Mk3S does not have that option.
Anyone know why this is happening and how I might fix this?

Well my guess would be the connection is flipped but like you said it's got a one way thing now I understand you've got revo so could you install the standard 3.11 firmware and run those commands through pronterface like I previously said in the other topic post and see if it's still spinning in the wrong direction

Well my guess would be the connection is flipped but like you said it's got a one way thing now I understand you've got revo so could you install the standard 3.11 firmware and run those commands through pronterface like I previously said in the other topic post and see if it's still spinning in the wrong direction

So you think it might be the firmware? If I reinstall standard firmware, will I have to do all the calibrations again (mainly the ZCal)?

Nope shouldntndo aslong as you dont factory reset and I just realized go to 3.12.1 standerd firmware and send the commands via pronterface the ones I told you in the other post

I just wanted to update this and say thank you. After I installed the official 3.12.1 firmware the problem disappeared. A little odd since I know many are using the Revo firmware - although I don't think I've seen any reports that it actually fixes the TM problem. But yes, extruder works fine except at some point my brand new filament sensor stopped working so idk, it has been nothing but problems with my printer lately.
