Extruder wiggle

I have some wiggle in the ENTIRE extruder assembly.   There is a small wiggle on the Z screws if I wiggle the x axis assembly up/down.     There’s wiggle, and I don’t think that it could be absolutely tight in the threads of the screws or it’d bind up.

Furthermore, there is a bit of wiggle in the attachment of the extruder to the rods of the X axis.  If you grab the nozzle/heatblock it kind of wiggles up, and rolls back.  This kind of indicates the looseness is around the lower rod, maybe.  I’m talkie 1-1.5mm of wiggle maybe.   I can’t make the back plate any tighter or my belt tension gets too tight, but maybe there’s something else I should be checking.

So Is the extruder at the nozzle supposed to be 100% rock solid with no movement when you lift it up, or is this wiggle normal???  My biggest concern is the filament rolling resistance causing the extruder to lift a bit, then drop once that tension lessens as the spool turns.  You can get this motion I have by pushing up on the nozzle or, pulling up on the filament in the top.

I certainly could make a video if I need to.

RE: Extruder wiggle

the extruder needs to be steady. I suggest you to look again at the assembling instructions

RE: Extruder wiggle

Every 200 hours or so you need to do maintenance. On mine, the extruder was loose and required tightening the screws holding it onto the bearings.. Just check all screws around the extruder housing.. likely they are loose.
