extruder clicks and leaves gaps in dispensed filament
What is the remedy?
In case it matters, I'm now using Prusa PLA. Earlier today I was using a PETG filament and had no issues.

congratulations, you have a jam!
likely some PETG stuck in there thats not being fully melted at PLA temps.

Is it too late to run a cleaning filament through it to clear the jam, or am I now forced to disassemble and manually pick it clean?

I would do a few cold pulls with pla first, but the cleaner is good too.
