extruder blob, which sparesparts are needed?

Hello, our wonderfull i3 mk3s has a problem:

the hotend temperatur shows terrible values, from 0 to 856° changeing. the wires are damaged I think. To fix the situation some tipps are wellcome. Which spareparts we should order?

All ideas are wellcome.

thank you

Werner

Try to clean it of with, heating the extruder if possible, or with a paint heat gun. Then you now what is damaged.

With heat gun, do not make it to hot, the extruder will also melt.

Order all cables, you will need them in the future. Now you have to wait on ordering. Fan will break, 2 cables by the nozzle will break.

Also if you loosen all cables by rebuild. often another cable will brake, because cables are getting old and brake fast.

thank you. first of all I need patience I understand.

I expect the sensor for the extruder has a problem with the cables, they may be damaged.
So we need an assembled hotend E3D MK/S or maybe a   Hotend thermistor E3D  could be renewed.

the other things regarding cable and so on we understand. Just now we are waiting for another MK3S kit, and the sparepart could be delivered together.

If your extruder is showing very high temperatures, It is Likely that the Thermistor wiring is Short Circuit.

thank you Joan,
I agree. We change the complete hotend and look if the old one is to repair with a new thermistor or ...?

Ok Werner,
Changing the whole hot end, is an option. that gets you working quickly, and gives you time to sort the other hot end, later.

Once the old hot end is out of the printer, you can use a hot air blower, or heat the hot end in the oven to soften the plastic blob, and clean up the components,
don't forget to use heatproof gloves.
