Does not start - endless filament change

Hello,
I asembled the printer during the last few days. Everything was fine, also the self check was good. so i expected to get my first part only minutes away. but when is startet to print the batman logo of the SD card, the printer always wants to change filament, then it got to the starting position and the again a change of the filament. This is an endless story.
What could be wrong to? Time of printing ist after 10 changes about 8 seconds, so it doesnt even really start…

I would be very happy to hear a quick solution 😉

Greetings Michael

Sounds like the filament sensor. Can you turn it off?

Also MK3 or MK3S? This is the sort of thing that happened with the MK3 depending on the filament used, but the MK3S should have fixed this...

Re: Does not start - endless filament change

I had this exact issue after my build, didn't happen during the wizard but as soon as I went to print from the SD card it happened, I disabled the sensor and it no longer happened, granted I don't have filament detection but I am printing.

Re: Does not start - endless filament change

I had this issue as well.
I disabled the filament sensor, but it is still working since I can auto load the filament (when I put the filament in it's hole, the extruder will pull it).
It looks like the kit needs a little more tweaking, but the printer is still amazing and this feature can be left alone for now...

My next printers will be pre assembled for sure 🙂

Re: Does not start - endless filament change

When I had this problem it was because I inserted the filament sensor plug the wrong way around into the control board socket. The instructions make a clear point about using the lower pins, but you have to pay careful attention to the photos to see which way around the plug goes. Look for the wire colors.
