Did I miss a step in the assembly instructions?

I assembled my new i3 MK3S this weekend, and it's making really good quality prints so far, but I've noticed there's a hole in the left side of the extruder that isn't used (see photo below). I've gone through the instructions several times but I can't see any step that tells me or shows me anything going in there. I might be suffering from assembly instruction blindness - Have I missed something or is it meant to be like that?

This step?

Yep! I think you did miss it.

It's in the Mk2.5 to Mk2.5S assembly guide.

the Mk2.5 uses a limit switch on the X and Y axis, whilst the Mk3S uses magic...

the part that I highlighted is a block to operate the endstop on the Mk2.5, you odn't need to worry about it in the Mk3S...

Thanks for the reassurance. I did have to rewind extruder assembly twice because I missed something along the way - Good to know this wasn't another one.

Hi Matthew,

some folk have found the mk2.5 printed endstop, screw and captive nut in their Mk3S/MMU2S upgrade kits, and spent ages looking for where to fit them, it's the same kit for the mk2.5 kit but they never looked at the mk2.5 upgrade paperwork...

Prusa do their best, but there are an assortment of different solutions that they have to manage...

but you can rest at ease...   You've done good!
