Degraded prints over time

Hello

Printer: MK 3.0

Firstly, apologies, i bought my printer fully assembled, a thing i now regret because i have no idea how to fix what is now happening - i hope you guys can help!

The printer was working fine until i couldn’t unload a filament that would not come out - i had to open the extruder and pull it out - the end was a bit fat. anyway, i put it back together and the next few prints seemed fine

Then i started printing my first several hour print - and i had to stop it mid print because it looked a bit messed up - lots of spots on it: https://imgur.com/uCzLfYZ , https://imgur.com/2BbFnwy

For reference:

this is the first print i ever made from the printer after it was delivered: https://imgur.com/ChKT4jS

I printed this after the failed print i mentioned above: https://imgur.com/iZruPrx

I ran the wizard in the calibration menu, and then printed this: https://imgur.com/7PTwOXf

Not sure what is happening, but feels bad man 🙁

any help much appreciated!

Read up on doing a cold pull. You may have a partial nozzle obstruction.

Hey - I did a cold pull, thanks very much for the advice!

TLDR: Its more broken now, can’t calibrate z

Here are some pictures of the filament that came out - I think this looks like the thing is quite clear / not blocked?

Anyway, I did first layer calibration again to make sure all was well - I’ve done a few videos in case i am doing something wrong:

- Loading filament after cold pull
- First layer - 0.725 - i think this is too low / squished
- First layer - 0.695 - looks quite good to me?
- First layer - 0.680 - some tiny spacing between the lines

The big take away from these is that there is some excess stuff printed out along the way, this did not used to be the case before I started fiddling!

Regardless, using 0.695 from above, I followed the instructions for getting the correct idler and re-did first layer calibration with 0.695. When I did this the zig zag printed on a different place on the plate to usual. I was not filming this, but it was maybe 5 cm off, printing the start of the zig-zag much closer towards the front of the printer by about 5 cm.

I stopped the calibration and looked, and saw this: https://imgur.com/a/17MtcBT

I tightened the screw to full, and re-ran the whole setup wizard - here is the video:

Now i can't get past Z calibration- i have tried it with the screw fully tight as well as loose like how i noticed it in the image above, both give the error "please check axis length y"

It seems that i have gone from a completely working printer with a clog to a botched mess 😉

I have looked around the forum and online for suggestions, but non seem to apply?

Any help on where to start fixing this would be much appreciated!

ps. in case it matters, the filament if am using is the one that shipped with the printer, and its been fine prior to my faffing so I don't think that is the problem.
