Crash Detection doesn't home - it homes to center and x/y axis coordinates are off
I'm seeing Crash Detection about 1hr into a 20hr print. I saw it occur and it actually didn't crash into anything, crash error shows it was on the x axis. When the crash detection error is shown it doesn't home x/y to the front left corner, instead it homes to center and x/y axis coordinates are off. The print is then all shifted right. Has anyone else experienced this?
RE: Crash Detection doesn't home - it homes to center and x/y axis coordinates are off
I tore the x-axis apart and found that the bottom bearing has some stiction when rolling side to side, guess it failed. Sigh...3 day old printer and more problems than my CR10S.

@dan-byun
did you lubricate the bearings from new?

@joantabb
No, per the instructions the bearings didn't need to be lubricated as they were already lubricated and the included lubricant is intended for maintenance. I don't know if it is the lube or if the bearing itself has failed somehow. I still need to take the bearing off the linear rod to take a look at the inside of the bearing.

Ah well, you can use it now, as you are now doing maintenance... 😉
Personally I have always Lubed from Day one....
I don't know why Prusa say not to lube... it's a bit like expecting assembly lube to protect your race car engine without additional lube...

Very likely your three day old bearings are fine.
If the bearing mount screws in the extruder are too tight - it will cause this. Loosen them a bit.
And don't believe the instructions - and probably don't use Prusa grease. Get a good bearing lube - and lube them properly.

LOL you're probably right, should have lubed them anyway.
@robert-rmm200
I did loosen everything and found that the bearing, without it mounted, was still sticking. I lubed it and now it moves mores freely but still feel some slight resistance to it. I was able to get it to successfully print something but ordered replacement LM8UU Polymer bearings just in case.

Don't use your polymer bearings until you have a reason to. Enjoy your printer now that it is working well.
