Can't make a clean print
So this is my first 3d printer. The first few days after the assembly it was printing decent, with the exception of some ringing every now and then. Then it just started printing bad, I've checked all I could think of, belts tension, greased the bearing and axes, recalibrated the bed, put the printer on the steady surface, using the original Prusa filament, checked Pulley screws on X motor. Printed cubic a few times and got the exact same crappy pattern every time. Can anyone help?
That looks like a combination of several common beginner problems.
Let's take them from the bottom up:
First: clean the print-sheet with dishwashing detergent (Dawn/Fairy) and plenty of HOT water, rinse well and dry with a fresh paper towel. Handle by the edges only.
Then run a first layer Z calibration print and show us the result.
If it looks good print your cube again and show us that too.
RE: Can't make a clean print
Apparently, my printer doesn't like to print the straight-up downloaded gcode(even if I downloaded it from Prusa official website), but rather I need to slice an stl file on my local Prusa slicer and use that one. Prints come out perfect!(tears of joy)I've attached another pic of the XYZ cube result for the comparison. Now I need to print benchy, and a tower to make sure all looks good.
Don't dwell on test prints and calibration checks; print something to improve your life, enjoy the creativity. Your printer appears to be working well enough to build something more interesting than a benchy...
Cheerio,
RE: Can't make a clean print
I had the same issue when I downloaded the gcode of the calibration cube from here https://www.printables.com/model/97625-xyz-calibration-cube . Slicing it was fine, but using the gcode there just gave a completely whack result.
