Can load manually just no autoload

Hi all, my sensor seems to be plugged in correctly, and I have printed a couple hundred hours with no problems... I had no idea that it was actually supposed to autofeed when I did autoload... that might seems stupid.. which I can accept. 🙂 and I dont mind manually loading.. but I feel like I should figure this out. The sensor readout is "1", and does not change when I load or unload the filament. I do not know where or how to ts from here.

I appreciate exhaustive advice.

Thanks!

RE: Can load manually just no autoload

Your sensor readout should change to 0 (zero) when filament is unloaded. If it doesn't this indicates a problem with the IR switch or the lever mechanism which operates it. You will need to adjust or modify your lever parts until the switch reliably reads 0 unloaded and 1 loaded. Then autoload will function.

I ended up using the suggestion here ( https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting/filament-autoload-not-working/#post-169365 ), putting a small shim under the sensor board, which fixed things for me.  Perhaps that will help?
