Buzz/Whine at high temps?
I just got my Mk3 together this weekend, and after the first test prints turned out good enough for me, I moved to printing actual things I wanted, in PETG. This has been a RPi case that attaches to the printers, and some internal supports for an R/C airplane.
I noticed last night and now today that it seems like when the temp is high (on either the bed or extruder, can't tell) I can hear a a buzzy whine. It doesn't start right away, and goes on the entire print. As an example, right now Octoprint and the LCD are telling me the bed is 90c and the extruder is 240c. I was in the other room, but I don't think I heard the whine when printing first started and the temps were a bit lower.
Is this normal?

When printing PETG, the default profile leaves the part fan off the first three layers. That's probably your nose.
It's a bit noisy when it kicks in. But mostly because everything else is pretty quiet.

😀 man, I should have known that. Now that you said that, my brain recognizes the noise of a small PC fan. So, I guess I'm spoiled because this is my first printer and it's so quiet compared to everything that has come before it. But, that particular noise travels pretty far in the house, it makes printing overnight not awesome. Doable, but not awesome. I guess I have to get to building an enclosure sooner rather than later.
