Build plate already damaged?
Hi everyone. I just put my printer together on Saturday and so far have been happy with it. Was very careful putting things together and calibrating and was super happy with my first print. Quality was fantastic. Since then I have printed 5 things. The last two things were a small, model house and its roof. The house printed well, no issues. But today, after coming home and removing the roof from the print bed, I was startled to see two spots where the finish on the bed is coming off. Small, but noticeable. Also, it looks very much like an indent of the last print is burned into the surface... like a warping or something. Anyone else run into anything like this?

Yeah.. sorry. It's actually printing on the other side right now. I will attach pictures when this print is done.

Looks like what I thought was warping was gone, but you can see in the picture where the finish is coming off. These two spots were at either end of where the roof for the house was printing. And they are not scratches. This thing is being treated with kid gloves.

Are this really missing pieces? If yes, I would contact PR support and make some more angled pictures. From above it's really hard to tell.

While the second picture is pretty hard to tell, I think the first one shows the absence of the coating pretty well. But yeah, I'm really missing pieces.I have written to support, but I have written to them before and gotten no response so I hope this time I will.

log into your account on one of the prusa store pages and in the bottom right corner you will see the Chat system box click in it enter your Invoice number for you Prusa and start the chat system they do an excellent job and will take good care of you.

the best prep for your bed is to wash it with warm water and dawn dish soap (in the UK use Fairy liquid) by using a wad of clean kitchen paper towel dampen with warm water and put a dollop of Dawn on the pad and scrub (i do it twice at 90 deg to each other holding the plate by the edge as it is a phonograph record rinse under running water and dry with clean paper towel keep touching only by the edge... I do this every other day of printing with both kinds of plate.
