Broke the X-end Motor Mount during Assembly 🙁

Hello,

I’m a noob trying to build the i3 MK3S and unfortunately when I was trying to build the E-axis assembly, I broke the x-end motor mount when I was trying to adjust the tension on my printer :’’(

Want to know who I can contact to get a replacement shipped out to me to finish my assembly. I have a picture of the part attached to this post. Pretty bummed it broke, but hopefully can get a replacement shipped sometime.

Contact Support. Click EShop, log in, and click Chat button.

They can ship you the part you need.

Don't let a minor catastrophe like that slow down your build. Just work around it...

If it were me, I would complete my build just using two motor screws. That should be secure enough to get through self test.

By then, your replacement part should be here.

Use this down time to pack your bearings with grease. You did grease your bearings, didn't you?

Same thing happened to me. I epoxied it and moved on. Printed like that for a good month or two before I got around to ordering a replacement.

Thank you both! Will try to super glue it, then move on today. Might post a pic of my first print when I finish.

If you go glue, I highly recommend epoxy. Superglue never seems to have much strength.

And please -- ignore the BELT TENSION display.   You can't tighten the belts enough to make it read 240: you will break the printer trying ... but you've discovered that.

The belt tension numbers are good for evaluating friction after assembly: if low, below 260, you have a friction problem -- bearings not properly lubricated, not packed with grease, or something is binding - U-bolts or extruder housing.

Happy to report the glued part worked just fine. Here’s my first print.
