Bed Adhesion/Warping Pattern

I ran my first larger print on the MK3 and on both prints, I'm noticing a pattern along where the part is warping off the bed (see attached)

Nozzle: 215
Bed: 60

I don't know if this is connected, but my first layer mesh is never the same after about 4 prints. The Z value will remain whatever value I have it calibrated for; however, the first layer will eventually become too close to the bed, forcing me to perform another first layer calibration. I've gone from the value 1.4 to .95 without touching anything other than the interface and SD card. Pinda is tight and all other layers are great after the first.

I can provide more details after work, thanks in advance.

Re: Bed Adhesion/Warping Pattern

I've read that you need to complete the Live-Z adjustment from the front menu at least once in order to save a flag that will prevent it from drifting over time. Not 100% sure, but I do it whenever I flash new firmware just to be safe.

Are you running current firmware? Update to something current if not in case bugs have been fixed.

Immediately before you do your bed calibration, haul the sheet to the kitchen sink and give it a good cleaning with Dawn dish soap or equivalent. Don't use anything with skin or other additives. Wipe it and dry it with a plain paper towel. Above all else, do not touch the PEI print surface.

Use Jeff Jordan's "Life Adjust" method to calibrate your Live-Z. It's much easier to use and understand than the on-board routine.

If you've done this and the problem persists, 1st try the kitchen sink trick. If you're sure your bed adhesion is good, I'd give support a call.

Re: Bed Adhesion/Warping Pattern

I purchased and assembled this kit January 1st. I installed the latest firmware and assume it's still the latest?

Thank you for the prompt response and detail. I routinely wipe the PEI with 90% rubbing alcohol with new cleaning pads between prints. I did have a warping issue that was different in pattern and more extreme until I started the rubbing alcohol. I initially tried dawn to get better adhesion but wasn't noticing much.

When that warping issue was resolved, I continued to print small items with no issue. The print in the picture is 7x7x7. The second print (not pictured) is circular and has the exact pattern of warping.

Could a cold draft do this? I have the printer in my basement on the concrete floor and air shifts around quite a bit. My rookie gut is telling me something to do with bed temperature, but I'm totally new to this.

I'm going to do the Z live adjust when I get home and see if that helps with the drifting and adhesion.

I experience the same issue with my prints. Printing in a cold drafty garage (15C/61F). I'm looking at enclosure options to stabilize the temperature around the print object.
