Bad prints

When I did my first print this is how it came out, it went through all the calibrations and set up wizard without any problems.

Re: Bad prints

Looks like you didn't set your live Z correctly.

See here for one of the better ways to get it dialled in:

Re: Bad prints

Not sure where to go from here but after a couple more attempts with the same results I tried to go back through and do the calibrations again and its failing on the first point sometimes and others it will go to the second point before it fails. I looked through the other posts and I am sure that everything is tight as far as the belts, not sure how it would pass the first start up calibrations and than now fail. It was the kit model that I bought. Thank you for your help this is the first printer that I bought and assembled. Not really sure where to go from here.

Re: Bad prints

Henry, take vintagePC's advice and set your live z with this method https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/assembly-and-first-prints-troubleshooting-f62/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html it is far better than the zig zag method in the firmware dont think you have to read the whole thing
the first 2 pages of the thread will get you over this very common beginners hump

beware of fingerprints on the build plate if you have adhesion problems with the live z setting or indeed anytime going forward then
the best prep for your bed is to wash it with warm water and dawn dish soap (in the UK use Fairy liquid) by using a wad of clean kitchen paper towel dampen with warm water and put a dollop of Dawn on the pad and scrub (i do it twice at 90 deg to each other holding the plate by the edge as it is a phonograph record rinse under running water and dry with clean paper towel keep touching only by the edge... I do this every other full day of printing with both kinds of plate.

Re: Bad prints

So a quick update the reason it wouldn’t calibrate again was a loose pulley on the y-axis once I tightened the two set screws it worked fine. Have not done the other z calibration as I’m still learning how to load the files.
