Assembly Advice

I've just ordered my first printer -- an MK3S+ kit -- and I was hoping for some assembly advice. I've watched a few build videos and come across the following recommendations:

(1) The Nylock Mod

(2) Soaking the bearings in IPA, then greasing with super-lube or similar

(3) Using loctite (purple) on the metal-to-metal screws

I'm not sure if those recommendations are good or applicable to the MK3S+ (as opposed to an earlier version), so any advice in that regard would be appreciated. And if there are any other modifications it would be good to make during assembly, or tools that it would be good to have for assembly, I'd love to learn about those too. Thanks in advance!

RE: Assembly Advice

I would just follow the online build manual online precisely step by step.

Yes clean the manufacturer oil off the bearings with IPA (Don't think you need to soak them, just wipe with a lint free cloth) and Lube with SuperLube, this is very important to prolong bearing life.

As for the mod, and locktite I personally would avoid these, you may need to adjust the frame for square/flat, follow diagonal tighten as per manual.

I suspect the nyloc mod you are on about is for the bed, again avoid this just follow the manual exactly. Follow the correct tighten order, and I was advised by support to secure all the screws and then tight them by 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn. Also check none of the heads are proud of the surface, if you get one that is replace with another from spares kit, some have been known to be slightly larger.

I am ordering a digital torque screwdriver to correctly torque the frame screws up to 4.5nm, but even this may be a step too far, but it is recommended in MK3 manual.

Read the manual many times and follow it exactly, don't be tempted to mod or tweak, if you have an issue ask for help here or prusa chat.
